The Takeover, a 27 minute short, starring Pharris, has been selected to be screened at the 2014 Charlotte Black Film Festival, March 1st. The Takeover is the story of best friends Ashley, a Caucasian fashion designer, and Tisha, an African American comic book artist, who debate the difficulty of dating; each arguing that the other has it easier. After help from a friend and his potent espresso, the ladies trade places and experience the dating scene in each other’s shoes for 24 hours. This hilarious short film presents an inventive satirical story with a fresh young cast, great music, and plenty of laughs, while posing the question: Is the grass always greener on the other side?
